Our Story

Oppa opened in the fall of 2016 and breathes new life into a century-old Greenwich Village townhouse.
The restaurant was created by Carlos Suarez, the owner of Rosemary’s and Claudette,
and focuses on sourcing the finest ingredients from local purveyors.
Oppa is open for all days of the week, and serves seasonal cocktails and sustainably produced wines from family-owned vineyards.

I find happiness in the ART of COOKING.

Our Values

What we base on

For our chef’s at Oppa Bar NYC, cooking is not just about how it tastes or how it looks. Cooking is a form of art for us. Yes it is important how it tastes, how it looks, but it is also a reflection of our passion. We believe food prepared with love and effort can make a crying baby smile and bring an argument to a close. Eating is a necessity, but here at Oppa Bar, we do it in style

A reflection of our love for serving you
and our want to share the goodness with you.

We only present our customers with the best: Fresh Ingredients and exceptional drink.

We do not settle. We experiment, we study and we come up with new and unique dishes.

Looking for dishes of West Village? We not only do traditional but also value our one originals.

Quality? Check! but it is also about your happiness. We are hungry for your smile. You deserve to be happy.

All our dishes come with that oomph and bang. They will leave you wanting more and more.

The Kitchen

Oppa Bar NYC

Chef Cedric Tovar, formerly of Daniel, Peacock Alley at The Waldorf Astoria, and Town, joined Bobo in January 2012. His menus offer a contemporary take on seasonal French classics that celebrate our region’s best ingredients, from fantastic fish and shellfish from the shores of Long Island, to gorgeous duck and produce from the Hudson Valley. His food is simply soulful and tasteful.
